Art Opening Fantazerova

Sorry to my German fellows, but this post has to be in English: Today my roommate Maria had her first solo art opening. She is showing her recent pieces of art at Route 66 Museum in Berwyn close to Chicago (7003 West Ogden Avenue, Berwyn IL 60402) Her work is inspired by the city and the grid: "My interest in the grid was inspired partly by Agnes Martin's work. Similarly to her, I see a meditative and endless quality in a grid. It is predictable and static and therefore creates a sense of much desired certainly as well as unshakable balance. In the city the grids of windows create an enveloping environment of lights, rhythm and repetition..." (extract of her artist statement). The exhibition of her work will be open until Friday, April 20th (10Am-5PM). So if you are in vicinity, you should definitely take the time and step by the Route 66 Museum to get a glimpse at her fascinating and inspiring pieces and let the impressions of her outstanding work sink into you.
